Doula Services

As a labor doula, I provide informational, physical, and emotional support for expectant parents throughout pregnancy and birth. What that actually looks like varies depending on the needs and desires of the family I am working with. In some cases, I might act as the main support person, providing physical comfort measures and lots of hands-on interaction with the mother, as well as offering reassurance and encouragement. In others, I might play a more advisory role, making suggestions to the father about how he could best help the mother, only stepping in occasionally to give him some rest.

My goal as your doula is to help you achieve the birth you desire. Through meetings in person, as well as conversations by phone and email, I will seek to get to know you and your birth preferences well. I will work with you prenatally to help you prepare for your birth, offering resources and referrals where appropriate. During your birth, I will do my best to help maintain a calm, peaceful environment and strive to make your experience a positive one.
